FRIDAY 12 JUNE
1970 163rd day - 202 days to come
Looked at some toy stores. Couldn't find anything of in-
terest. At "Guffanti" bought two games originally
put out by Waddington:-
NUOVA BATTAGLIA AERONAVALE - A variation of BATTLESHIPS.
IL GRAN DUELLO - which I have as WHITE KNIGHTS.
(cont. from 6/17) [6/17]
Rcd. S&T #21 (May-June '70). He also sent me some
"Poultron Press" stationery and copies of correspon-
dence between Jim and Tom Shaw concerning the GAMEs
connected with the books on survival & the Revolution-
ary War. The Magazine contains CHICAGO, CHICAGO and
FLIGHT OF THE GOEBEN (STRATEGIC) and
FLIGHT OF THE GOEBEN (TACTICAL). (In my conversation
Monday with Jim he had said there were errors in
one - or was it both - of these.)
I called Jim to tell him I rcd. the package. He
said it was the 2nd copy he sent after talking to
me on Monday. But the envelope is dated
June 15th and I spoke to Jim after midnight, making it the
16th. (?)
I asked Jim about a new press card since my old
one expired. I'll send him my old one and he'll have
a new one for me when he comes to see me on Thursday
July 2nd.
Rcd. a letter from Haar Hoolim which is dated May
12th. Had some card GAME ideas; also a translation from
Danish of his LAS VEGAS POKER; and the statement
that they expect HAAR HOOLIM PERCEPTION GAMES to do well
this year. (Incidentally, in a hasty reading I couldn't
make sense of the game translation.) [The letter was a
duplicate of the one I rcd. on 5/16. I discarded it.]
(cont. from 6/11) [7/2]
Told Phil my doing the rules would depend on whether I
was able able to quit my job in August. (Earlier I
told Jim that if I couldn't quit I'd have to drop my S&T
column. Jim will get Jared Johnson.) Phil says we'll work
it out in either circumstance.
Mentioned the "Hallmark" exhibition to Phil. Bob Reiss
have been trying for months to get AQUARIUS 2000 in.
I asked Phil if he had seen John Anderson (KING HAMLET)
and that I had tried to call him. Phil will tell him
to call me.
(cont. on 6/13)
