MONDAY 25 MAY 1970
145th day - 220 days to come
Pete Gersten called. They are signing a lease for the game
store in Brooklyn. He will call me the week I get back
from Europe and arrange to get together.
Called Mickie Mackay. As far as she knows Marvin Katz (see 5/6)
is definitely going to do an article on me for GRIT.
She will tell him of my plans to be away for 2 weeks.
Thanked her for STUMP and CROSS UP POKER.
Rcd. a letter from James Rockwell. He was sorry he
missed me at the "Stationery Show". He is sending me
copies of TEMPO, INTERPLAY, and ODD OR EVEN.
Rcd. a pleasant letter from Gary Silver.
Rcd. a letter from T. Pfeffer. He sent a new set of
rules for ASTRO-FLITE and some new equipment.
I worked on PROFIT. BB typed the rules for it and
started on PE-LING.
(cont. from 5/26) [8/20]
(Didn't play but I told Gini I thought it was similar
to VECTOR and not as good.)
LAST CHANCE: - Each player has 16 line segments and one pc.
Players in turn place
their segments on the board segments until
the entire board is covered. They then
olace their pcs. In turn the pcs. are
moved to an adjacent square (not diagonally),
Then an opponent's provided the square has at least
one side of the player's color. After moving the player
removes, at his choice, one of the opponent's segments.
Player unable to move loses. (Played and I couldn't see
too well how to arrange my segments.)
[Diagram of 4 x 4 grid of empty squares.]
STACK UP : - Transparent pcs. with some spaces on a 3 x 3
grid blocked out. Players keep several on a rack which
are replenished from a grab bag. Play is to one or more
tiles in the center. Blocked squares may not be covered by
further blocks. When 1 player completes the blocking of
a grid he scores a trick. The game was much too
much like HI-SPOT and I didn't get all the details. (Told
Gini that I was working with a similar GAME but
dropped it when HI-SPOT came out.)
TETROMINOES : - Board is a 13 x 13 quadrille similar to a
SCRABBLE board. The pcs.are similar to the one
shown (how many colors?). Play is like SCRABBLE.
[Diagram of a 2 x 2 grid. Clockwise from top left, the square are Green, Blue, Red, and Green.]
