THURSDAY 21 MAY 1970
141st day - 224 days to come
Spoke to Keith Tuggle. Told him I was sending him a rough
set of rules for FREE FORM. Discussed introducing
an opening variation in the price levels
in EXECUTIVE DECISION, which they had dropped by printing
the opening level on the board. Decided to let it stay
without variation.
Tom Mason of "Whitman" called to check if I was
aware of and would come to the meeting about
FOCUS next Tuesday. Yes.
Felicia called. "Bill Arons" (spelling?) Union Wadding
who is on the I-S board board of directors told her that
another big company was moving into games.
James Schisgall (Schisgall Enterprises) who put out the "Life
puzzles" has bought out Tuco jigsaw puzzles. He may
move from puzzles into games. She met him threw the inventor of PSYCH-OUT.
Keith Tuggle was in to see her before going back to
St. Paul. He took the disclosure form for FREE FORM with him.
He told her that a big promotion for MR> PRESIDENT was
in the works, but not at the retail level. Felicia gave a
big build up for NOMINATION. (Why?)
She heard of an Ecology GAME, similar to those at the
Stationery Show, which was being tested on the educational market.
It will go to retail soon.
June PLAYTHINGS" came.
From work early to pick up a "Dream Machine". Gave a
copy of S & T to Katherine Warren of "Mont-Saint-Johns".
(See 5/17). At 3M exhibit talked to Dick Littlefield, salesman
in charge of department stores in the N.Y. area. He
asked if I ever make personal appearances. Sure.
He gave me a bunch of tape and other things from the exhibit.
Rcd. a letter from Peter A. Gersten of GAME OF THE MONTH CLUB (N.Y.).
I called him first at his woodmere number (516-295-1626)
and was given his New York City number (228-9205). The
Game Club turned out to be a money losing proposition and
now he is involved in opening a big game store in Brooklyn.
Would like me to come in in some kind of advisory
capacity. He'll give me a call next week about arranging
to get together.
Rcd. A GUIDE TO FAIRY CHESS - 2nd Edition.
Peter Gersten is a good friend of the president of "Plan-B".
His name is Eric Naiburg.
