FRIDAY 6 MARCH
1970 65th day - 300 days to come
Thinking of a germ of a GAME idea. Players solve a
mystery by circulating around exchanging information.
(party game!)
Rcd. a letter from Phil Orbanes and samples of the stationery
for the various divisions of "Infinity Quest Corp."
Rcd. the March IDEAS NEWSLETTER, also a mebership
application and information sheet.
Rcd. an ad sheet for [illegible word crossed out] MERGERS GAME - put out by
"James J. Augustine & Associates". I'll have to write to
them for a copy.
Called Jim Dunnigan about the introduction to my next
column in S&T. He said to wait until I rcd. the Jan. -
Feb. 1970 copy which he is sending and then base what
I say on what he announced in Recon.
(cont. from 3/3) [3/3]
now Waddingtons will market in the U.S.A. The games
they will sell here are: - TOTOPOLY, RAILROADER,
AIR CHARTER, FORUMULA 1, SKUDO (which is listed in the cat-
alog he gave me as "new"), BLAST-OFF! , SUM-IT (which
is now changed to decimal currency - see 1966), WHOT,
LEXICON (but only one game is included now), SHOP (which
he says is a childish game)
Other games not being sold here are CUBE FUSION,
EXPLORATION, THE BATTLE OF THE LITTLE BIG HORN
, SORRY,
MONOPOLY, CLUEDO, ONE TOO MANY (A balancing game),
WHOOPS (a whacky game), CLICK (a "new" dice game with 5
dice).
AIR CHARTER he says has a simple game and also a
strategic advanced game. He is sending me a review
copy. He will also send me copies of EXPLORATION and WHOOPS
for my personal collection. He ask if he should send them
air mail and I said that there wasn't that much hurry. Sur-
face mail should take about 6 weeks.
Chad Valley - Got copy of their 1970 catalog. Contains the following:-
MOON RACE, ZODIAC, ESCALADO, COMPUTOR TIC TAC TOE (which looks the
same as THINK-A-DOT).
Simplay - They had a game OLYMPICS in which the various events are
competed in simultaneously by throw of dice (I believe), probably special
dice. In theire ad sheet they list a game - RUN AMOK CAR RALLY,
which I didn't see.
(cont. on 3/7)
