TUESDAY 24 FEBRUARY
St. Matthias, Apostle 1970 55th day - 310 days to come
To Biblo & Tannin and to Schutz looking for books.
Nothing of interest.
Rcd. a letter from Ed Tucker and John Savage with
the printout on the computer game of PATTERNS II.
Phil Orbanes and Bob Hallowell expected for supper and to
look at my games but Bob got sick at Phil's house and
couldn't make it. Phil called BB.
Jim Dunnigan over. He brought me the folded up
board for his game BASTOGNE which will be in the upcoming
issue of S & T.
I showed Jim the book HAND BOOK OF REVERSI, HALMA, &C
and he decided to reprint the game INVASION as my
column in the next issue. I'll do a 50 word or so introduc-
tion. Jim took the book to have it photo-offset tomorrow
and I'll pick it up at lunchtime.
He rcd. a letter from a reader who wanted addresses of the
companies in my reviews.
Showed Jim SPECTRUM, DATA, and CINEMA. He liked them.
Also showed him EXCALIBUR which he understood & liked.
Phil called. Bob loved CONGLOMERATES. He liked the other games
but was getting pretty sick.
Jim left me keys for the { Poultron Press Office at 326 E. 13th St.
Called Frank Thibault and spoke for at least 20 minutes.
Jerry D'Arcey is in town & will contact me.
Frank made about $1300 on REGATTA (4th quarter?).
At 3M Bill Caruson told Frank that ACQUIRE has their most
satisfying growth. Also the Bookshelf line is just about
as big as is practical.
Frank finished his Basketball GAME but 3M has two others.
Frank's is more expensive and 3M is very cost conscious
now.
TOTAL OUT is doing fair. He got a little over his advance.
He is very disappointed with the way they have prepared
the test marketing version of PLOY. The pcs. are
wafer thin. He complained to Bill Caruson and he'll try to
have it improved.
