FRIDAY 6 FEBRUARY
1970 37th day - 328 days to come
Diane Jaust sent me the reviews of AGOG from the
following:- PLAYBOY - Feb. 1970 (Diane marked it Jan.).
Cleveland PLAIN DEALER - Dec. 14, 1969
THE GAMESLETTER - Nov. 1969. (Had this already.)
Rcd. a letter from Mike Abrams with material,
mainly bibliographies, he picked up in a course on
"games and learning."
Rcd. a letter from A.W. MacIntyre from whom I
rcd. ASSASSIN! He wants advice on marketing his
games.
Finished copying the index into the 1969 game diary.
Made a master for a notepad for playing SEARCH
and ran off 4 copies. Each page can be cut to form
9 playing diagrams.
(cont. from 2/7) [3/2]
young children which makes it difficult. They invited us
and I said we'd try.
He mentioned one PUZZLE with stacked cards and I told him I
didn't want to hear about it since I had something that
might possibly be similar.
To 3M. Jim Kraus there and then Bill Caruson returned from
another visit.
ACQUIRE is steadily advancing and Bill still thinks it is their
best game.
BAZAAR is doing very poorly, almost as bad as PHLOUNDER
which they are discontinuing. They admit that the fault in
Bazaar may be the packaging. They haven't decided exactly
what they'll do about it yet.
VENTURE and MONAD will be repackaged in a small
"Gamette" format. It is a small hinged book with
storage compartments vacuum formed in the two
halves. In this line, which will sell for $4.50,
they will put the card games and also some smaller
non-card games. They are looking for family fun
games rather than complete strategy game.
I told them that I was pleased with the change in
VENTURE and Bill said that a [crossed out]
purchaser had sent in the idea.
They have had a lot of questions on MONAD, not complaints
however. Kathy is rewriting the rules to simplify them.
I said I would like to see what she comes up with the be-
fore they are printed. Jim said that he would love to send
(cont. on 1/25)
