THURSDAY 15 JANUARY
1970 15th day - 350 days to come
Stan Harris called. TAM-BIT and TAKE FIVE are ready. BB & I
will go there next Tuesday to get the first copy of each
and to be taken to lunch. I'll bring Stan a copy of AGOG.
Felicia called and Jerry got on the phone. Meeting at I-S to-
morrow to discuss GO SEE.
Called Jules Cooper. Supposed to call back but didn't.
At the office rcd. a copy of a book review of AGOG
by Frank Macomber of "Copley News Service" (145 newspapers).
Sent by Diane.
After work to { Hallowell Industries, 717 Fifth Ave. Suite 2101
Phil Orbanes, Red Simonsen, and later Jim Dunnigan, as well
as Bob Hallowell, were there. Bob will be forming his own
company which he will call "Your Own Thing" in June (I believe)
when his contract with "Hallowell Industries" (BRIDGEVERYONE)
will be up. Even tho his name is on the company he only has a small
share.
He wants decorative items which are manipulative, more
like puzzles than games. He will manufacture them and
they will be distributed thru Bob Reiss, a distributer of
adult games and puzzles, etc. Reiss distributes
BRIDGEVERYONE and will handle AQUARIUS 2000 which Phil
is doing for Allstate.
Bob left halfway thru the meeting and we stayed on
discussing our prospective organization which tentatively
will be called "Creative Involvements." We'll all do what we
can and take out equal shares. (Is this a subsiduary of
Infinity?)
Jim had the idea of a sword in a rock, EXCALIBUR, as
a puzzle. Kicked it around but the mechanics of the puzzle
would be rough. I through in the idea of a number of
swords which could only be inserted in a set order, due to
locking notches. (Got it pretty well worked out later.)
Phil gave us a report on a meeting with Bob Reiss
which listed his criteria for a successful item. He also
gave us excerpts from "THE CREATIVE ORGANIZATION - A guide
to our own manner of running a design-oriented company-"
(Both filed with "Infinity" material.)
Phil said that Bob Reiss was handling one board game -
SPECULATION (not the one by Createk). He thinks I can get a
copy by mentioning his and Bob Hallowell's name. They
are at 230 Fifth Ave. - 8th floor.
[red printed text: 4th Payment Last Year's Income Tax Due.]
Bob Hallowell asked me about the memory GAME on Harry
Lorayne's system. I said I am working on it with Brian Blake.
He said he is pretty sure M.B. will take it.
