FRIDAY 9 JANUARY
1970 9th day - 356 days to come
Felicia called after Bob Engel of Whitman left. He took
Natalie Donna's FLINGERS with him. He said it was the only
original game of all those she showed him. It was a reduced
version that Felicia had had Natalie do. Natelie was there.
John Rocknowski has quit Whitman in frustration.
Bob is trying to get them to do an adult line but he's
not sure if he can succeed. In fact he is not sure whether
his head will roll in a reorganization or not.
He would love to have an autographed copy of AGOG. He's
willing to buy one, but he wants it autographed. Told her I'd
send him one.
FOCUS will be reissued in a more expensive edition, and they
intend to change the name. He will send us each 6 when it
complete, (No definite date.)
Felicia sent two party games by a new client, IMAGINATION
and SKILLEROO, to Arnold Shapiro. (I told her of Avalon-
Hill's IMAGINATION.)
Arnold Shapiro called her. He sounds less frustrated.
I asked her to check on TRIPLE CROSS sometime.
After work to Impact for meeting with Jerry Dougherty &
Ed Hartman, who is a travel expert working with Iberia
Air Lines. He had suggestions for making GO SEE more
realistic. He had a rough board with the "Pan-American"
routes and [crossed out] ideas for playing with a die. He also
thinks it is important pschologically for players to re-
turn home periodically.
He played had a game worked out partially using dice.
Later I thought of allowing a player in turn to move one or
more cities along a route, paying for the number of cities
moved.
They also thought an EXPO 70 game, a DISCOVER AMERICA,
and some others. I'm not to do any work however until I heard
from Jerry.
Incidentally they liked the name GLOBAL HOLIDAY better than
GO SEE.
Left the NASA book for Dan with Jerry.
Jerry saw his contact at Enjay Chemicals with TOTALLY--,
TROMINO GO, and THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS. He liked the games
but wants to know more about the status of adult games.
I told Jerry I had some info on it.
Listened to Ruth Jacobs at 12:15 on WEVD but I wasn't on.
Edi Birsan called and told BB he rcd. SUDDEN DEATH FOOTBALL.
