Tuesday 6 January 1970
Feast of the Epiphany 6th day - 359 days to come
Felicia called to get my opinion of QUEST (see 12/30/69). Told
her I liked it, tho it will need a little cleaning up. We also both
liked the inventor. She has doubts tho whether anyone will be
interested in the subject matter. She knew about Lakeside's QUEST.
She saw Dan Ferrone. He said he thought the general idea
was great, but he didn't like a particular feature. Felicia
said something about it but I couldn't make it out from what
she said. About MAN IN SPACE.
She is seeing Bob Engel Friday (of Whitman). Showing him
mainly children's games. Asked if I had anything to show.
Couldn't think of anything. She'll check on FOCUS.
Felicia is getting a fellow in to work with her at I-S.
He will handle toys. He has many toys with different companies.
He will get 25% in addition to her 25% - leaving 50% for the
inventor.
Because of possible heavy snow called Brian Blake and returned
Harry Lorayne's book to him at Grand Central.
Phil Orbanes called. Bob Hallowell, of BRIDGEVERYONE wants to
get together with Phil, Jim, & me sometime next week. He is
interested in a line of from 4 to 6 games to be ready
by June. They should be unique in packaging, retail for about
$10, and not have too high development costs. Preferably they
should be playable by a single person. Phil thinks we should
all work on the project and share the royalties (he thinks
we can get 6%). I suggested each of us working on 2 projects
and then finishing them up together. Hallowell will be happy
to put our names on the games. He thinks adult games have a really
big future.
Hallowell mentioned to Phil that I was working on a GAME
using Harry Lorayne's memory system, and he, Hallowell,
will be able to sell it to Milton Bradley. I told Phil about Brian
Blake.
Phil met a sales rep:
{Bob Reis
230 Fifth Ave.
who is going to handle his astrology GAME. He has handled
BRIDGEVERYONE and WFF 'N PROOF and sees a great future
in adult games. He credits 3M for breaking the price barrier.
For the first 2 years they were losing money, but now they're
doing fine.
After talking to Jim & Bob Phil will call me and finalize a
date for next week.
