Monday 5 January 1970
5th day - 360 days to come
Dan Ferrone of Impact called. Morris was around, and I was supposed to call Dan back at his house in the evening to dis-
cuss MAN IN SPACE.
Instead Dan came along with Jerry for lunch at Brownies. Gave
TOTALLY-- to Jerry and explained it to him. He thought it was
great.
Discussed MAN IN SPACE (Though not by that name). They liked the
idea of the 21 manned flights but Dan thought I had it a
little to simple. I'll get together a model and we'll kick it around.
Jerry said that the fellow at TWA was sick so they'll be no
action for a week or so.
Felicia called. Told her of my meeting with Dan & Jerry. Then
Bob Hubbard, president of Impact, came in and she had to
hang up.
Brian Blake called and will pick up Harry Lorayne's book Wednesday
instead of today.
Rcd. a letter from Paul Greenough. Jacqueline bought him a copy of
AGOG for X'Mas. He [crossout] likes it very much.
The Dec. 12th issue of NEWSDAY came. Penny McMullen's article was
fairly long. Got in fairly good plugs for ACQUIRE and VENTURE.
Rcd. the Dec. '69 of INTERNATIONAL WARGAMER (the one I got
from Jim Dunnigan last time I was there), also a mimeographed
supplement called DIE KRIEGSPIELENDEN NEUIGKEITEN, [illegible crossout] almost completely a club news organ. It did have an ad for
WAR OF THE EMPIRES, which seems to be multi-player PBM
game. Rules are available [crossout] for 50¢ from:-

BB thought my S & T column was rather heavy. I called Jim to see how
much longer I could take. He said after next weekend would be
fine.

Nearly two years of sporadic strikes, riots, sinking trade bal-
lances, a franc devaluation and other troubles led French Economist
Jean-Marie Albertini to invent a MONOPOLY-like game called
