MONDAY 22 DECEMBER 1969
First Day of Winter
356th day - 9 days to come
Jan Rotchstien called. She asked if I had seen the Dec. 12th issue of NEWSDAY. She didn't have it but she knew that Penny McMullen's article on games was run then. She gave me an address for ordering a copy for 20¢.
I called Diane to tell her. She'll send a messenger to get a copy and will send me a repro.
Felicia called. She and Jerry Dougherty have contacts for a travel game. I will bring GO SEE tomorrow. She asked about AIRLINE and I reminded her it was at Renwal. I offered to get it back but she said that if it was close there to let well enough alone.
Rcd. an X'Mas greeting book from Mary Hilt of Whitman.
Rcd. the following 3 back numbers of THE PANZERFAUST and the rules and equipment for THE THIRD CRUSADE (ordered as CRUSADER), a game which started in Vol. 3-6 and continued in others: Vol. 1-No.8, Vol.3-No.3, Vol.3-No.6.
3-3 has suggestions for improvements in FOOTBALL STRATEGY and also has a new game BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC.
Lou Wetzel of Renwal sent me 2 copies of the agreement reducing my royalties in TAM-BIT & TAKE FIVE to 22% for those produced & sold in Canada.
Sent a copy of S&T with my reviews and also a repro of my column to Jan Rotchstien, at her request.
Sent an X'Mas card to Constance Merrick at Parker, with a letter telling her I had sent AGOG.
Called Jim Dunnigan. He is sending me a copy of the S&T rate schedule to send to THE GAME OF THE MONTH CLUB (N.J.). I'll go there Wednesday night to reproduce MALÉ CARLO.
To Abercrombie & Fitch. Looked at SUDDEN DEATH FOOTBALL. Each player has 11 pieces which have different types of moves. Players take turns moving one pc. of their choice. Passes can be made only from & to specially colored spaces. Game is over as soon as a touchdown or safety is made. (Very rough idea. I'll try and get a copy to review. If not I'll buy it. $10.) The address of the company is
(Matte Shell Games Inc.
(225 E. 36th St. N.Y. 10016
I tried information but couldn't get a telephone number. The bldg. is an apartment house.
At A&F looked at RIDERS UP (which they had for $9). There are tables with odds for different races. The races are of different lengths. Movement is by throw of special
