WEDNESDAY 10 DECEMBER 1969
344th day - 21 days to come
At 10 o'clock taped a WEVD interview with Ruth Jacobs. Will be
on Jan. 9th from 12:15 to 12:30. Got in good plugs for
AGOG and ACQUIRE.
To office of ART IN AMERICA. The article was more on art than games
but I bought the Nov.-Dec. issue anyway.
To F.A.O. Schwartz. Nothing new in regular game dept. In
antique dept. bought THE CAPTURE OF MR. RAFFLES, an 1915
Parker game for $5.
At Brentano's saw:
THIM(N)K : - A miniature abacus with 3 wires with 3, 5, and 7
beads. A NIM game identical with THE MATCH GAME.
ASTROLOGICAL UNIVERSE GAME : - A GOOSE game. At home I rcd. it, instead of ZODIAC which was advertised in the Times
and I ordered.
VENTURE : - Saw the other 3 card games, but not this.
Clerk said they had it and were probably sold out.
QUADS : - The name was given as Armin Speer Associates,
666 Fifth Ave. - Went there and met Speer. He is with an
insurance Co. and puts the game out on the side. He asked
me about royalties and other such info. He told me that he
read about a retailing company who is putting out starting
a chain of "leisure time stores" possibly as many as 100
which will sell adult gaves, Sporting Goods, outdoor equipt.,
etc. He said the Nov. 30th issue of BUSINESS WEEK had an
article on adult games. Only a few were mentioned,
SENSITIVITY being one.
He wanted to swap a copy of his game for my b a
copy of AGOG. I tolll him I didn't have any available and
that I had learned enough about the game from him. He
said he'd buy a copy and insisted on my taking his game.
I'll send him a copy of S&T. Also the address of
THE GAMESLETTER. He is interested in advertising in them.
His game will be the selection next [crossed out] month of
"The Game of the Month club (N.J.).
Thinking of the number of pegs for ODD OR EVEN. If 30
are included an interesting solitaire version can be
included, the object being to place all 30 pegs using the
rules for "odd "play; name ODD SOLITAIRE.
Joe Weisbecker sent me an ad for COMPUT-A-TUTOR with a
note "You might be interested in this"
Called Jim Dunnigan and told him about Armin Speer. He'll send him
a copy of S&T He asked me if I saw the ad for DYNASTY,
Told him I sent them a letter, He'll send another one asking them
to send one copy to me & one to him.
