Played COUNTERPOINT with BB using a new idea. When a
player makes an exchange he keeps one chip, of
his choice except as explained below, which the opponent
can't use and the player must use in his
next turn. When a player makes a score he must
keep the color he scored in.
Worked very well. An offensive game rather than defensive
game. One possible drawback- a player can get
ahold of a color & keep it as long as he wants.
Play to 60 points or a double game for getting 11
or more points ahead. The first player cannot score on
his first play.
Called Diane to tell her I was at home and about the
interview with Penny McMullen. Diane asked to change date
to next Monday since she has to go to a lecture given
by another author on Thursday.
Called "Imact." Spoke to Dan & then Jerry called later.
Only Jerry coming tonight and I invited him for supper.
Rcd. the missing material for GALACTIC DIPLOMACY
Rcd. a letter from Robert Smith of Canada who bought
AGOG. Wants info on MANCALA games and addresses
of various companies.
Jerry Dougherty over. Brought two copies of NORTHWEST PASSAGE.
[illegible crossed out] Someone brought them a game called TANKER and they thought
of the Manhattan's trip around Canada, brought it to Humble Oil
and so far have an order for 250,000.
They have a contact with Enjay Chemical Co., an Esso affiliate. They
mail various interesting material to about 25000 executives, scientists,
engineers, etc. They are thinking of 6 mailing of intellectual games.
Showed him TROMINO GO and he thought that it was perfect. Later when
he saw THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS he thought it would be great too. After
he left I thought that TOTALLY--, without the dice, would also go.
Showed him GO SEE. and he it as a possibility for Pan-Am or TWA.
I suggested American Express which he thought a good idea.
He showed me a GOLF GAME which someone had submitted to
Shell (who sponsor the Wonderful World of Golf). It was very
similar to BYRON NELSON GOLF GAME which I showed him.
