MONDAY 1 DECEMBER 1969
335th day - 30 days to come
Diane Jaust called and told me to expect a call from
Penny McMullen of NEWSDAY. She called later and
discussed my book and my 3M games in connection with an
article she is doing on X'Mas adult games. Gave her
Andrey Pierce's number for more info on 3M and to get
a copy of ACQUIRE It will probably be in the Dec 12th
or 13th issue and she'll send me a copy. (very pleasant.)
Listened to John Wingate from 3 to 4. (Jeannette had heard
my mentioned as coming guest last Friday.) Gave me a nice
build up at the beginning and at end of program ran interview
just as we taped it, including the time I couldn't
find a word. Dana taped my interview.
The bill from Manlicht's for the "Liberty Storage Boxes" came:
$22.00. Paid it with cash.
Felicia called. Had a letter from Jim Kraus saying that
they have 3 more games that they are adding to the
card line, in addition to HIGH BID and will have
room for possibly two more for 1971. They are not
looking at anything for Ed-U-Playtional unless it is sensational.
They have a new line under discussion and will
let her know as it developes.
Made date to go there Wednesday at lunch time and
make a repro of Jim's letter on her new copy-mate.
Made repros at my letter to Jim Rockwell, also the
proof of ODD OR EVEN, and the Martin Gardner's column
on joined hexes (6/67); to send to Tom Atwater.
Mailed letter with proofs, etc. to Jim Rockwell ; also the
letters to patent office and Joe Weisbecker.
Rcd. two bulky letters from Phil Cohen with rules,
and ideas, for many games, mainly CHESS
variations, many way out.
Rcd. Hamley's catalog. Not much new but I'll probably
order WHAT AM I BID?, BLAST-OFF, DECIMAL SHOPPING,
and SHERLOCK HOLMES. THE BATTLE GAME might be
interesting but they want £6.6.0 for it. Another possibility -
MOON PROBE.
