WEDNESDAY 12 NOVEMBER
1969 316th day - 49 days to come
New idea for COUNTERPOINT. The first player cannot score. In addition
his chips must be piled. This makes for defensive rather than of-
fension play on the first play.
Felicia called. She had a letter from Arnold Shapiro which, among
other things, told her what he told me concerning
THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS.
HIGH BID has been changed into a card game. Larry was
sent 4 copies.
IMPACT sent a fee to I-S for Felicia's report to Humble
Oil. They also sent her a personal bonus.
Looked in Klein's toy dept. Nothing of interest.
Bought 7 more jiffy bags for mailing A GAMUT OF GAMES.
Called Diane Jaust. Told her about NOST. She will send one
copy of book for review in NOST-ALGIA. Told her about
"AGOG."
The book will be discussed on "Encounter," which is a part
of "Monitor," but not one in which they do interviews.
Asked her to transfer me to Fabio so that I could check about
PATTERNS II being put out as a packaged game. She thought it
would be good but not for a year or two. Spoke to Fay
Hertog. Fabio is on jury duty. Left word to have him call me
when he has the chance.
Started working on a layout for THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS
with each color different. It seems to be a much easier
problem to set up than the original one.
Also thought of a method of playing the game with more
variety in the dials turned. The eight outer dials are
considered in the equivelent positions to the directions
that the ray with the dot can take. The direction that
ray points specifies the next dial to be moved. If the same
dial that is moved is specified, the center dial is called
for. Another new rule: a player must move the position of
the dial he turns.
The repro of the WOMEN'S WEAR DAILY review came
from Diane.
Arthur called. He looked thru PACE quickly. The article is
based around a "Mr. Cerebral" who discusses adult games.
He didn't buy the copy since I wasn't featured. However,
AGOG and the 3M games were pictured.
He has a new BRIDGE type game with the HIGH DECK he'd
like me to see.
Rcd. a letter from Haar. He hasn't rcd. AGOG yet.
