TUESDAY 11 NOVEMBER
Veterans' Day 1969 315th day - 50 days to come
Diane called. She had a call from NBC's "Monitor." They want me to
discuss games played during biblical times, to tie in with
Christmas. Told her that there wasn't much known about it but
that I would see what I could find. She said that a writer
would be calling to discuss it with me. Taping is set for 11/20.
On 12/10 Ruth Jacobson of WEVD wants to discuss my collection.
Fabio called me later. Nothing in particular, just to see if I
was happy.
John Geiger called. He likes my book. He would like to do
PATTERNS II as a packaged game. I doubted whether people
would buy it when they can get the rules in my book
or in SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. He pointed out that TIC-TAC-TOE
is sold in packages. I said I'd check on the legal aspects
with my editor. He said I'd probably be approached by the
big companies and to remember that he asked me first. I told
him that they don't have that much imagination.
He and his daughter Heather will be demonstrating
LOGI-QUAD and METRO-MOSAIC in Brentano's on 11/29. In-
vited them for supper that night.
Jerry Doughtery of IMPACT called. They are just exhausted
now with production problems with their GAME for
Humble Oil. Postponed their trip here until 12/2.
Fay called me at work and then in the evening. Lee Revins
(? spelling), the programmer, & she had an idea for a Los Vegas
gambling game. They want me to do the engineering. A few
weeks from now will be O.K.
(cont. form 11/12) [11/12]
Rcd. a letter from Donald Greenwood of PANZERFAUST. The
back numbers and game CRUSADER I ordered will be a-
nother month in coming. Also some of the back issues are
no longer available. He'll give me credit for those not sent.
Rcd. Oct. 1969 copy of NOST-ALGIA.
Rcd. an ad sheet from "Partners Ltd." Had an action
game SPOING! Also FOURCAST which is not a game but
a combination of 4 fortune telling devices. Also
HAAR HOOLIM PERCEPTION GAMES. (Filed in 1969 "Ad Clips.")
Fay called and had me speak to Amy, who is rewriting the
presentation for TREASURE HUNT.
BB and I played COUNTERPOINT. It still wasn't quite the
