Rcd. a letter from Arnold Shapiro of X. They are returning
THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS.
At the Karlans played COUNTERPOINT, Helen & Si against Mike &
Sid K. The former clobbered the latter, to such a degree that
the game became boring. Later decided to use the following rule:
A player wins by reaching 75 points. However if a player gets 11
or more points ahead he wins a double game, (player on team
that is).
4 played ULCERS. It was fun. One question - can a player
hire more of a position then he needs for winning, as a protection
against being raided?
Gave a copy of A GAMUT OF GAMES to the Karlans. Mike said he
intends to buy one and I said I would bring copies to him and to
the Sternbergs.
