Election Day 308th day - 57 days to come
A GAMUT OF GAMES was listed in the new books in the Times.
Made copies of Miriam's review to send to Diane Jaust.
Stopped work at 3 and to "Helpfgott & Partners" to
meet Jules Cooper. Gave him a copy of A GAMUT OF GAMES.
He didn't have BEWILDER with him but said he'd arrange
to get me one. I said I'd also like the sports games
and he'll contact me and drive over some evening or
Saturday to pick them up. He also would like to take
BB & me out on a Saturday, on Ideal. Will stop
here on way to the date to look at my collection.
The fellow who did THE L GAME has some-
thing to do with "Helpfgott - - ". I told Jules about
Free Form. He said that maybe someday they will
be doing adult games, but not for the immediate future.
The detective series is dead. I told Jules I'd like to
use CASE OF THE ELUSIVE ASSASSIN as a real egghead game.
He'll check when I can get it back.
To Brentano's. Saw the rules of GROUP THERAPY. There
is a board with a starting space called "Hung-Up" then 8
spaces of one color, 8 of a 2nd color, and 8 of a 3rd color.
[crossout] Near the beginning of the 2nd color and about 2/3 thru
the 2nd color, and about half way thru the third color the
spaces are marked "Group Therapy." At the end of the path a
space is marked "Free". This is passed the colored spaces.
Players in turn draw a card corresponding to the color of
the space they are on. They must act out the instructions
on the card. The other players judge them on their sincerity,
etc. For each player who gives them a "pass" they move
forward 1 space, for each "fail" they move back one space.
Don't move back passed "Hung-Up." A player who did badly
on a card may after the criticism do it over again and
be marked again. Only one new chance is allowed.
If a player's marker is moved onto "Group Therapy"
all the players in turn act out the same card, drawn from
the top of the deck.
The first to reach "Free" is the winner.
The cards of the colors get harder as you move from
one color to another.
A second set of cards can be obtained for $2 from:-
[bracket] Park Plastics Co.
Linden, N.J. 07036
Saw ENCOUNTA (S.J. Miller). Another MANCALA version. (Didn't
see the rules.)
Looked at Abercrombie & Fitch. Nothing new.
