WEDNESDAY 8 OCTOBER
1969 281st day - 84 days to come
Diane Jaust called.
She sent review copies to newspapers, magazine, also game
columnists. She will send one to S & T to use for their
review.
She sent three copies to Martin Gardner.
She contacted Lee Horn of 3M publicity who was supposed
to contact the Pierce Organization. I told her of my talk with
Jan yesterday. Diane will call Lee again.
Diane wants pictures of me playing games, to send to
women's page editors. She can send a photographer or if
Dana takes them he will get credit and also a payment.
Told her I'd get them this coming weekend.
At lunchtime to 200 Fifth Ave.
Stopped at Austin Associates (Universal Games). Closed as usual.
To Hasbro. Roger Elson not there. Another fellow could
not find copies of their games to give me. Left a note on
Roger's desk to send me copies of THE WORLD OF WALL STREET,
MATING GAME, and VEGAS.
To Diversified Creations and borrowed the rules of
TIP-OFF. Will return them early next week. Later repro-
duced them and filed them in "Board Games" Folder.
On way back stopped at jewelry supply store and bought
small plastic pieces in 6 colors - 8 each (for $2.40) to
use in COUNTERPOINT.
Rcd. a letter from Kathy Brooks. They are returned SPELLBINDER
since they don't want to overload the Card Game line with
word games. Didn't mention the contract at all. Felicia
thought that Bill Caruson should be called. Since she is
right in the middle of moving her office, I said I would
call.
BB gave one of the damaged copies of A GAMUT OF GAMES
to Miriam Fredericks. She wants to review for the Co-op
City newspaper. I don't want her giving my address.
Arranged with Claude to get together tomorrow.
BB called Fay Baker. Told her we won't have anything to do
with the research she wants done. O.K. Fay wants an up to
date biography of me.
(cont. from 10/10) [10/11]
Fay Baker called and I spoke to her. Told her I was mentally
exhausted. She said she understood about my not wanting to
make long term commitments now since once the book is out
dozens of people may be after me. She said we would just
work on TREASURE HUNT now and worry about other
