Called Barbara Francis. Asked to get together and discuss the advertising
possibilities. Barbara said it is now in Random House's hands
with Sally Kovalchick the editor in charge, and Sally wants to meet me.
Had the call transferred and made date for tomorrow at 5.
Called the Pierce Organization. No Answer.
Letter from Susan Vibert of PACE Magazine. She rcd. the
games from 3M and A GAMUT OF GAMES. She says it is fascinating and
will include a picture in her article.
Rcd. an ad for four CHESS books from Germany. Seem to all be
devoted to problems. (Filed in Book Ads Folder.)

At Gimbel's and Macy's children's game dept. saw
DRIVER-ED (Visual Dynamics). A multiple path game
played with dice. Draw penalty cards for landing
on spaces with traffic infractions.
At Macy's adult game dept. they had MONAD, VENTURE and
the other 2 3M card games. VENTURE seemed to be moving.
At Macy's took a quick look at MATING GAME (Hasbro) but
didn't read the rules since Claude was hungry.
At children's dept. bought MY SON THE DOCTOR for 88 [cents].
Claude picked up a copy of PEEKO for me for 50 [cents].
Rcd. the bill for the 20 copies of A GAMUT OF GAMES - $85.50.
During the evening called Arthur and spoke to Wald. Told
him I have the books for them, but didn't make specific
date to bring it to them.
They rcd. a letter concerning POWER from a professor
in New Mexico (I think) who is involved with organizing
intercollegiate competitions and is interested in
finding games different from GO and CHESS.
At Macy's saw a series of sports games by Ideal;
