WEDNESDAY 1 OCTOBER 1969
Missouri Day (Mo.)
274th day - 91 days to come
Al Oblas printed out and gave me the following clipping
from the Daily News.
"AT YOUR SERVICE" by Isabel Forgang
If you like the challenge of thinking and outhinking an opponent
at play, the new 3M Bookshelf games are for you. Consider
"FEUDAL", an exciting medieval war game which combines military
strategy with chess-like maneuvers as the armies of two feudal
kings battle to the death. Each army is secretly deployed, making
every game different. The rough, mountainous terrain can aid or hamper
attempts to thwart the enemy or lay seige to his castle. For
two to six quick thinkers of any age. "Feudal is priced at about $8...
If word games are more your style, test your wits with "FOIL".
Unlike other word games, "Foil" challenges your skill in unscrambling
words, as well as your ability to form them. Players first score
points for forming words. Then, after scrambling them to foil opponents,
they try to score additional points by unscrambling their opponent's
words in their allotted time. Foil sells for about $8.
Called Roger Elaon @ Hasbro & got him in. He said the secretary
hadn't delivered the message. He said I could pick
up some of the games by coming in next week; come any time
since it won't be necessary for him to be there.
Felicia called. Asked me about NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. Told
her it was a puzzle put out by Kohner in which small
balls are manipulated into openings, while looking thru
a mirror. Said she will be writing to Redpath. Later
called to say she had written. Among other things she
asked him to please let us know if any foreign licensing
arrangements are made.
Rcd. a letter from John Geiger with directions for meeting
him on the 11th. Also a somewhat revised set of
rules for LOGI-QUAD, put out with the "Creative
Playthings" name. Added them to the set I already have.
