TUESDAY 23 SEPTEMBER 1969
First Day of Autumn
266th day - 99 days to come
To Random House. To Fabio's office. He gave me a complete
copy of A GAMUT OF GAMES. Very handsome. To meeting
with Jean Ennis, the director of Random House publicity, and
her assistant Diane Jaust (at extension 2246).
Gave them Lee Horn's and Audrey Pierce's numbers so that
they can coordinate publicity with 3M.
Discussed SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, PACE, PLAYTHINGS,
TOYS AND NOVELTIES, STRATEGY & TACTICS as possible
or sure places for getting reviews.
I mentioned my cousin Jeanette's suggestion of
sending the Fitzgeralds of WOR a copy for review. They
said that thet almost certainly would be able to get
me on Arlene Francis' WOR program. They will, of course,
try for others.
Jean Ennis asked for some pictures of me playing games.
Also if she could get an advance copy of Martn Gardner's column.
After leaving them Fabio gave me another copy of the
book. He said that he would check on what's doing with the
Science Book of the Month Club and will call me.
To Brentano's but they now close at 6. Had a window display
of SENSITIVITY and GROUP THERAPY, together with
a blow up of an article from Newsweek Magazine.
In Korvette's saw HOT WHEELS. It is suggested for ages 7 - 12.
Rcd. a second and longer letter from Jared Johnson.
Fell on way from subway and damaged our copy of
A GAMUT OF GAMES, not very seriously. Dale wanted it and I
gave it to her.
