SATURDAY 6 SEPTEMBER
1969 249th day - 116 days to come
Rcd. a letter from Al Samuels. He is now in Princeton N.J.
Apparantly he hadn't rcd. my letter with the idea of
eliminating the dice from TOTALLY - -.
Rcd. a letter from Haar Hoolim with a number of puzzles
and a copy of his letter to Angela Dunn.
Rcd. the "Edmunds Scientific Catalog." Nothing on games
that I don't already have, but there is a lot of potential
game equipment listed.
Called Martin Gardner. I'll go there Monday evening to look
at the rough draft of his column. He got the editors of
SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN to feature a diagram from A GAMUT OF GAMES
on the November cover.
He told me of seeing ads for ZAP. Told him I had it,
and will bring it on Monday so he can look at it.
Also will bring BOARD & TABLE GAMES 2 for him to look at.
Got a phone call from { George Shapiro [address]
(an elementary school teacher) New York, N.Y. 10028
He had heard (where?) that I was interested in games.
He has a business type GAME [crossed out] that he is working
on and would like to come to some N.Y.G.A. meetings to
see how we work on games. However he is somewhat afraid
to divulge his idea.
I promised to send him a copy of FOCUS and that I'd
get in touch with him in a month or so, when I had
more time. Or that he should contact me then.
Wrote up the rules for the latest version of TEMPO.
Started a letter to Jim Rockwell of Stancraft.
