FRIDAY 5 SEPTEMBER 1969
248th day - 117 days to come
Lou Wetzel of Renwal didn't call, although his secretary
yesterday said he would.
Felicia called. She has to leave her office by the end
of the year; her landlady needs the space for herself.
She sent THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS to X Tuesday. She
had written to him and he said he'd like to see it.
She had a nice letter from Mel Taft. He'll send someone
whenever she has anything to show. She figures that
getting tough payed off.
She wants to get together soon & get together on some
games.
To Jim Dunnigan's. Played MEM with Edi Birsan who
thought it was interesting. I rather preferred the simpler
version.
Played FEUDAL with Larry, the inventor of HANNIBAL. It
played wellafter we stopped jumping to conclusions about
the rules. He beat me soundly. But he is a CHESS
and wargame fan, and FEUDAL is midway between the two.
Jim and some others were working on a variation
of BLITZKRIEG for use in STRATEGY & TACTICS.
Jim and I agreed that I'd do about 3 pages (minus
space for some ads) of reviews. I will write to Jared
Johnson & ask him to review some of the older games,
like RISK, TWIXT, etc.
Rcd. Vol. 2 #8 of INTERNATIONAL WARGAMER, together with the
game SPANISH MAIN (rules and material to cut out to
make the equipmant), and a short welcoming letter from William
Hoyer.
Martin Gardner called while I was at Jim's. I'm to call
him tomorrow morning.
