WEDNESDAY 3 SEPTEMBER 1969
246th day - 119 days to come
Called Renwal. Stan Harris was out with a broken leg. Called him
at his house. He suggested that I call Lou Wetzel to check on
whether he wants TAM-BIT and TAKE-5 to be mentioned
in Scientific American.
Claude called. He saw an ad for the "Game of the Month Club"
in the Times. I clipped one from Rimski's paper.
Claude's sister has returned from her vacation and we can't
use her apartment for a meeting. Didn't make alternate plans.
I called Arthur and asked if he wanted to get together next
Monday, eat out, and then play games at my office. No.
Rcd. a letter from Bob Lanzon. He nominated me for membership
in NOST. I have to send $5 for dues.
Finally rcd. a bill from S. & H. for
LE GUIDE MARABOUT DES JEUX DE SOCIETE. $2 plus $.12
sales tax and $.34 for post. and ins. - for a total of $2.46.
Bernie Newman called me. In his conference with Shelly last weekend
Shelly told him that E.S.R. was in financial trouble
and could be bought up. They are bidding for it in competition
with several other groups. (E.S.R. is the owner of
Ed-U-Cards, which is doing all right.) Bernie will let me know
in a few weeks how it comes out. If they don't get E.S.R. it
will mean starting a new company, which is a lot slower.
Did a little more work on the special TRIAD cards.
