TUESDAY 26 AUGUST
1969 238th day - 127 days to come
Called Felicia to tell her about article in MECHANIX ILLUSTRATED.
She is supposed to get a tear sheet from them.
She heard that "AVCO" took over Lakeside. She also heard
that Lakeside has a bad reputation.
The artist who did STACK STICKS brought her a model
of a computer toy which she is sure 3M will
take for the EduPlaytional line. He also has 35 more
items which he will work up.
Went to Michelle's Store to show her A GAMUT OF GAMES
jacket. There was a girl there:-
{ Judy Kornblum
[address]
New York, N.Y. (apt. 4-H)
[phone number] (office)
[phone number] (home)
She is a librarian for the Board of Education. She is also
one of a panel of reviewers who pass on books for the
school libraries. She was interested in my book and thinks
a math teacher who is always asking for books that will
stimulate math thinking will love it.
A review copy should be sent as soon as possible to
{ Bureau of Libraries
Board of Education
110 Livingston St.
Brooklyn
After work to Stern Associates' office at 200 Fifth Ave.
to meet with Bernie Newman and Shelly Lieberman.
The latter is V.P. Sales & Marketing for Ed-U-Cards. They
are interested in either buying an existing company or
starting a new one. It will start by putting out my games.
They discussed "Sackson Games" as a new which, later, I de-
cided I didn't care for.
Shelly will be in charge of production & marketing, Bernie
will put up the money - tho Shelly says he knows someone
else who wants to put up money also - and I will supply the
games - as a partner
Bernie had only told Shelly about meeting me in 1964 and
about FOCUS. They were impressed with my 3M games and
especially about the book after I showed them the jacket.
Shelly asked me to send him a repro of it. I said that I
would, but [crossed out] that it shouldn't be shown all around. He
said he would check with me before showing it to anyone.
Shelly, obviously, didn't want us to talk about his connection with
the project until after it was definite. Later, Bernie said that
Shelly would not have wanted to get into the deal if I did chil-
dren's games, since that would conflict with his present po-
sition.
They we be meeting again Thursday and Bernie will
