Monday 25 August 1969
237th day - 128 days to come
In TEMPO thought of the following. If each [duplicate word] player can
continuously shuttle a piece of the player with the least num-
ber of pieces remaining is the winner. If each has the same it
is a drawn game.
This led to the idea for a scoring system. When a player
wins a game he scores a number of points equal to the num-
ber of opponent's pieces remaining on the board.
Bernie Newman called. I'm to meet with him and Shelley Lieberman
tomorrow at Stern Associates' office at 200 Fifth Ave.
Called Stan Harris. Told him someone else might be in-
terested in AIRLINE. Also checked about copies of TAM-BIT and
TAKE FIVE for Martin. They won't be completely finished in
time, mainly the chips haven't come from Japan. Told him that
just the rules would be sufficient. He'll call me back by
the end of the week. I took his new home phone, in case
I have to contact him sometime in an evening.
Stan Harris (home)
[phone number omitted]
Played TEMPO with BB and with Debbie. It is
quite good now.
August PLAYTHINGS magazine arrived.
Had pictures of CHUG-A-LUG, TRIAL & BALANCE,
and NEMO a question & answer astrology game.
Arthur called. He has rcd. a large number of copies of
letters on POWER from Pelham Burn, from all kinds
of people, including a professor.
He has another non-game GAME which he will sell
me a copy of for $7.50. Next time we get together he will
show it to me. If Claude is there it will have to be sur-
reptitiously since it will be offensive to Claude's religious
beliefs.
At office ran off repros of my TROMINO GO column for
Lech.
(cont. from 8/27)[8/27]
Ran off repros of A GAMUT OF GAMES jacket to send to Shelly
Lieberman. I'll have to write in the copy on the front and
back since it didn't print up.
