FRIDAY 8 AUGUST 1969
220th day - 145 days to come
Called Barbara Francis and asked her when I could expect
the "blueprints" of the book. (My primary purpose
was to make sure she sent them to me). She said that
it would probably be a few weeks. Had a pleasant
conversation.
Stan HArris called. Gabe Frank has decided not to come out
with TAM-BIT, TAKE FIVE et al until November, rather
than September, and doesn't want them publicized before
then. Stan thought Martin would mention my games in
the September column and he was instructed to have me
not mention the two games they were putting out. When
I told him it was the November column he thought they
should be included but he'll let me know.
He is working on the Football GAME Lubow is enthusiastic about
but Stan doesn't think anything will come of it.
Made a layout of an arrangement for the faces of the cards for TRIAD.
Thought of a GAME idea. Have a quadrille (say 10 x 10) drawn
on paper. Players in turn, and according to rules to be derived;
place arrows of their color in the spaces are chosen periodically
and the one with most arrows hearing on it wins it,
the score being the total number of arrows bearing on it.
Arthur called. He's writing to Pelham Barn and wanted to
know if I wanted him to ask Burn to send me a copy
of the September PACE, with POWER in it. I told him "yes"
and to tell Burn I have been very busy with my book
& will write as soon as things ease off.
