THURSDAY 31 JULY
1969 212th day - 153 days to come
To Random House about 11 and there till 6. Got my galleys
from Barbara, tho she gave me an argument, and went
over the corrections. Found quite a few that hadn't been
taken care off. They weren't on her galley and she claimed
that I hadn't given them to her. Actually we had only dis-
cussed the major points and she had said that she would
go thru my galley and get the other corrections herself.
I asked if we could drop the sub-title "A Journal of
American Wargaming" from STRATEGY & TACTICS. She said it would
be impossible since a whole paragraph would be affected. When
she left I asked Bill Cummings and he had Murray cut up
and repaste the paragraph. (A GAMUT OF GAMES).
Jim Dunnigan here for supper.
He said he liked my column. Red Simonsen is preparing a logo
for it.
He has decided to skip an issue, putting out one now & the next
one in October. Probably I'll do reviews but we'll wait
till we have some feedback on this issue.
We discussed Phil's idea for Infinity Corp. and we agreed
that there are possibilities but that he is trying to move too
fast.
Brought me a copy of his game ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II or
THE THIRD REICH.
Brought me a list of 5 games his "Poultron Press" will be pub-
lishing:
TANNENBERG
NORMANDY
BARBAROSSA - with sub-games STALINGRAD, ZITADELLE, & BERLIN.
DEPLOYMENT
LEIPZIG
ITALY
TACTICAL GAME #3
He'll give me copies as they are published (I already have
ITALY in a rough form). They cost him about 30¢ each, and
will sell for $5.
He has a copy of TRAFALGAR he got free and will give it to me
I asked him about Avalon-Hill. He said that they are up to their
necks in legal trouble. Avalon Co. is suing them about their name.
Jim heard that Tom Shaw is dickering with Lou [crossed out]
Zocchi to create a LUFTWAFFE game. Jim is writing to Tom
that he wants an answer by the end of August or he is
giving the game to another company (meaning Poultron Press-
but he won't say that.)
Phil signed for STRATEGY & TACTICS with Jim [crossed out]
[crossed out] but
will have very little to do with it while he is with Allstate.
I will probably be listed as the "Game Editor."
