MONDAY 14 JULY 1969
195th day - 170 days to come
Made repros of Martin's letter & statement and mailed them
to Barbara.
Made repros of the letter with RANI'S GAME.
Rcd. a copy of August PACE Magazine. There is an
article "What on earth can you do in space?" I am quoted
along with Ray Bradbury, Leonard Nimoy, Art Linkletter,
Peg Bracken, & Frank Thibeault. Also a letter from Pelham
Burn.
Found a notice that they had tried to deliver a
special delivery parcel (HYPER-SPACE and that it could be
picked up at Grand Concourse P.O. or it would be delivered
tomorrow. Decided not to go for it.
Thought of an idea for a mystery GAME. There are
about 6 discs of the same size (or close to it) which
are mounted on the same axis. There are cutouts on the
discs which, depending on how they are turned, will line
up to different depths in different locations. A cover disc
will have covered peepholes which will be opened one at
a time by the players. At the beginning the discs are
set at random (lines will show that the positioning matches).
Then from the information learned the as the peepholes
are opened the players try to be the first to
deduce the relative position of the discs. (Rough
idea to be worked out.)
[Diagram of two concentric circlular rings which are divided by lines into about 15 sections.]
Thinking fyrther about the RUMMY type idea for
RIDE-A-RAY. Have different types of cards : - some allow
movement to the end of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 rays of the
same color; others allow a transfer not at the end of
ray at a circle of the color on the card.
What I really need is a more interesting objective.
