MONDAY 23 JUNE
1969 174th day - 191 days to come
Charlie Brutsch witnessed the TAKE FIVE contract and I then sent it to
Stan Harris.
Called Barbara with my complaints about the copy on the jacket.
Asked her to add the word "unique" to the first sentence and
to mention add "by partners" to the mention of a novel game
of strategy. She called me back and said that it was being done.
She didn't think the use of unique was neccessary, but she
admitted that it didn't do any harm. She read it to me and it
is now "An exciting collection of 38 unique games - old and new,
- - - -" (I am pretty sure.)
Rcd. a new issue of the rules for PARLEMENT. This causes my sub-
scription to the changes to expire unless I send more money.
Wrote a letter of thank you to the Bennington Museum.
(cont. from 6/24) [6/26]
[diagram of six discs stacked on one another with rod through center of each]
HANG UP. Saw this last year but now it is done in transparant
plastic. A marble is placed in a hole in the top
disc and then by turning the discs [crossed out]
[crossed out] the marble is worked down to the
bottom, then down up to the top again and
down to pass out of a hole in the bottom disc.
He also had STINGER and CODE along for another try at
selling them.
Jerry decided that he won't leave any of his games with a
company unless they give him an advance. He is tried of
companies holding games for so long. Among In addition to the things I
know about he had a game with Lakeside for over 6 months
before they returned it. It was called TOWER OF PISA. There was
a tilted tower. Players in turn used tongs to place people
on an observation platform on the top. The one who caused it
to fall was penalized.
Jerry hears from Lakeside that THE IMPUZZABLES are doing very
well.
He mentioned that A.H. took CHOICE. He gets a cut on this.
Discussed Hans Goldsmith. I told him of my improvement
in CHICKEN OR EGGHEAD; he'll tell Hans. Hans some years ago
made a Charley Brown game (which I saw once). The com-
pany wants another one. Hans tried and didn't come up
with anything. Jerry now has one he will try.
Jerry asked my advice on companies for his various things.
Told him what I know about C.P.I., Schaper, and A.M.T.
and in general talked through the whole market.
Told Jerry about Renwal and that I'd like to have him pre-
sent PROGRAMMIT once they decide to go with a higher priced
line. He mentioned three other games he is working on.
