SUNDAY 22 JUNE
Third Sunday after Trinity 1969 173rd day - 192 days to come
[diagram to left: 6 x 4 grid containing white or black circles.
Row 1: white circle, white circle, black circle, white circle, black circle, black circle.
Row 2: white circle, white circle, black circle, white circle, black circle, black circle.
Row 3: black circle, black circle, white circle, black circle, white circle, white circle.
Row 4: black circle, black circle, white circle, black circle, white circle, white circle. ]
Played a lot of TEMPO by myself. Also some with dad and some
with BB, all of which I won. Think that the
layout, as shown will be the best for getting var-
iety in the openings. It seems to favor the
second player but it is quite close. I'll also
include a variation with a random setup
brought about by shaking up the 24 pegs and
placing them blindly.
Thinking of restricting "priviledge" so that it cannot be used
when a player does not have a move available. It must
be used ahead of time to improve the position.
Wrote to Will Erickson authorizing him to send the royalties
directly to I-S, specifying each game. Also thanked him
for the three card games.
Wrote to A.B. Noriega who wrote requesting information about
publication of my book.
Wrote to Bryce Russell.
Signed the TAKE-FIVE contract and the Pantheon to
Random House form.
(cont. from 6/23) [6/26]
which he feels might be suitable:
COMMODITY :- a new approach to a trading game.
TRAFFIC JAM :- (told him there were a number with this
them. He'll check them out before preceding.)
CAPTURE :- A skill game based on the children's game
of PRISONER'S BASE. Opponent's pieces are captured and
placed in prisons. They can be freed by a friendy pc.
(Told him that this has been done - but not recently.)
Made repros of the rules and letter layout for CINQ-MARS.
Arthur called in evening. Said he has more interesting
things to show me and will be on vacation for two weeks
starting next week. Possibly he and Wald will come here
some night during their vacation.
