SUNDAY 18 MAY
Sunday after Ascension 1969 138th day - 227 days to come
[crossed out] Mailed the letter to Lech.
Mailed the extension on CARRÉ to Arnold Shapiro.
Made a model of CLOSED CIRCUIT. Tested it with BB. She
liked the game but found the puzzle frustrating.
Looked at the rules for TEMPO, INTERPLAY, and ODD OR EVEN. Prepared
copies to take with me tomorrow.
Long call from Claude. Talked about MANIPULATION. He wants
to send some new ideas on DEDUCTION to X, and wanted to in-
clude them with his contract extension. I told him
they were two separate matters and that it would probably
be best to handle the changes thru Felicia.
He asked me about the company that was interested in buying
"Campaign Games." I told him they were looking for bigger com-
panies.
(cont. from 5/19) [5/19]
models home.) He will send us both models when he makes
them up. They will be for next year's (1970) line, if he
takes them.
Tom came here for supper. Following topics came up (not necessarily in
this order):
SENSITIVITY - A non-game put out independently. Will be handled by G&R.
Each player gets an envelope full of neurosis, hang-ups, etc. By using
these false personalities it is supposed to develope into a group therapy
session. Tom will send me the instructions.
GEMINI BRIDGE - (which came up when Tom saw SLAM in my table of contents).
This is the one I knew about. He will leave a copy for me at
3M for me to pick up Wednesday.
HIERARCHY - A skill game made up by one of his clients, played with
square tiles. He'll send instructions.
HAGGLE - (He also found this in the table-of-contents.) He'll tell Ana-
tole about it. Showed me the rules. Each player (one set is good
for up to 8 players - I think) gets 5 value rings and 5 each of
"muffins," "girls," "ideas," and 2 others which I forget. Each player places
the 5 rings to set values for the 5 items for him. 1¢, 5¢, 10¢,
25¢, 50¢ (I think). Players trade their items freely and continue
until no one will trade further. Players score all the items
they end up with according to the values they set at the be-
ginning; kept secret until this time.
When I spoke to Anatole he said they would keep me informed about
when it comes out. Gave him my card. Also told him that my form
letter hadn't been answered. He was sorry (actually - not sarcastilcally).
Word GAME using dials of various diameters with letters along the
edges. These are turned to form words in all directions. (Rough idea.)
The client is 83 years old.
