MONDAY 12 MAY 1969
Rogation Day
132nd day - 233 days to come
Dale delivered the copyright material to Barbara Francis.
She called me to say that they would be O.K.
Then called back to say that I will have to get Esquire
to sign a release agreement. She will send it
to me including and also the form to get my 5 friends
to sign.
They have a new, more sophisticated, jacket design which
everyone likes. When she gets it back from the Random House
editor, who is overseeing my book. She willcall and
I'll come at lunch time to look at it.
Worked out a better arrangement for CLOSED CIRCUIT.
Made reproductions of the booklet WOLF CHESS to send to Lech.
To Felicia after work.
Brought her the SPELLBINDER contract.
She had the following letter from Bob Claude:
May 9, 1969
This is to advise that we have received Sid'd game entitled
"DIGIT". We have high hopes of getting at leat a sneak
review of this within a week to ten days.
We should also have something in the way of a review
accomplished on "CINEMA and "NOMINATION" within the same
period of time.
To the best of my knowledge, we do not have an agreement
form signed by you and Sid on "DIGIT". We would appreciate
your forwarding one to my attention.
She had a call from Arnold Shapiro. They are sending a
contact for RED LETTER and PERCEPTION.
They are returning STACK STICKS, IMAGE, and CAPTURE THE CARGO. They have already returned FORMATION.
They are slowly going into production with COLOR CONFUSION,
DEDUCTION, and SHAPE AND SHATTER.
TRIPLE CROSS wasn't mentioned in any category. She tried to
question Arnold about it but he seemed not to remember and
she didn't want to press him.
We discussed the other games she had there, mine and others.
We both agreed that COPADE was a great game but she
hasn't been able to interest anyone in it. I mentioned UNIQUITY
and she said that the inventors agreed that it wasn't commercial.
I thought it might be good for a STRATEGY & TACTICS
column and she thought that the inventors would be agreeable
They are:
