TUESDAY 22 APRIL 1969
112th day - 253 days to come
Lech's book PODROZE W KRAINIE GIER came. Interesting illustrations.
Chris Wagner sent a letten about a new game by the inventor of
DIPLOMACY called HYPER SPACE. He thinks it is good.
Felicia called again about the tax problem with Ed Weber.
Claude called. He saw PLOT (Cadaco) for about $1.75. I told him
to pick it up when convenient to him.
To Renwal for meeting with Lou Wechsel (President) and Stan Harris, Lou did not
want egghead games. Showed him TAM-BIT but didn't play. Then
AIRLINE and we played the short game. They want to cost them out
with the possibility of publishing them Lou left and Stan and I
talked for a long time. I was concerned about Phil Orbanes. He said
that they would love to have Phil give them his games (I told him
that CONGLOMERATE was great and INFINITY good and very
commercial but Phil talks only to Ceyce. Renwal doesn't have to
have board approval to publish games.
Lou had said suggested publishing only the short version of
[illegible crossed out] AIRLINE. I said no & stan agreed. He thinks it has
to be a $5 or $6 game, while TAM-BIT about $3. Kept the
first but I took back the second to finalize the rules.
He asked me as a favor to do the rules of SNAFU. I agreed
if I could have a couple of weeks to do it in.
He said that BATTLE OF BRITAIN had sold about 550 games
last year and CONFRONTATION and VIET NAM did worse.
They want to get rid of them since they are just taking up room.
I took a copy of BATTLE OF BRITAIN since Stan said the values were
changed a little. Will get copies of the games to give to Claude
and Arthur.
I brought up the idea of my names on my games and he thought
it was a great idea.
In the conversation with Lou he said that in talking with the
fellow from Createk he read him my report and told him it was
prepared by a game expert The fellow then mentioned my name. He
didn't agree too much with my evaluations.
Tony D'Ambra called me with more questions about copyrights. He is
having trouble getting information from the government.
