SUNDAY 9 MARCH
Third Sunday in Lent 1969 68th day - 297 days to come
Working on book diagrams all day.
Arthur called in evening. Asked about Lovering for '4 x '4
wood pieces for his new THREE. Suggested contact, in-
stead of the mystic tape he has been using.
Thinking of ideas for a card number GAME, for 3M. Have a
double deck of 108 cards, 5 sets of the numbers with
the numbers 1 to 10 twice in five different colors. Have to think
of something special for the other 8 cards. Two cards are
dealt out and the two taken as separate digits form an objective
(as a 1 and a 7 could be either 17 or 71). The players have
hands of cards from which they play cards one at a time face
up on the table until a player can use cards on the table plus
the one he plays to form, using any of the 4 operations in any
combination, to come up with the objective. The colors can
be used for a skill game where each player has one set and
can play from them at will. (Very rough idea.)
(cont. from 3/8) [3/5]
YACHT. There are 4 [crossed out] green dice and 1 red with an
oversize "1". The salesman said he was told that this was the
"original Yacht." Didn't know the details and there were no rules.
COVER UP. The old game of throwing two dice and covering
up numbers (1 to 12 used) that add up to the total thrown.
Continue until can't use a throw completely. Uncovered numbers
count against player. (Possibly 3 dice were used since with 2, 12
is pretty hard to cover up.)
ROYAL FLUSH. Looks like ordinary POKER DICE.
RUMMY ROYAL and the new edition of STOCK MARKET GAME improved edition came
from Bob Engel at Whitman.
Called Felicia to tell her about what I had seen at the
Fair.
[started on 3/5]
(cont. from 3/10) [3/10]
In my discussion with Mickey MacKay she asked if I did
free lance writing and when I said "Yes" said she might have
an assignment for me.
