SATURDAY 22 FEBRUARY
George Washington--Born 1732 1969 53rd day - 312 days to come
Called Arthur. He will bring me a copy of his manuscript (not games
but he won't say what it is) and I'll run it off at the office.
BB, Dana, & I started a game of SPELLBINDER but stopped for
TV and because company was coming.
Jerry Fredericks brought me 3 Sci. Am. columns.
Fay Baker called. She wants me and BB to come there in two
weeks, together with two engineers and the fellow from the
Computer Magazine (or something like that) to work on an en-
tirely new project, making use of board games.
(cont. from 2/23) [2/26]
doing a set of 6 brain games. He thought that was a good
idea.
Made a date for me to meet Tom Shaw, the V.P., next
Tuesday.
Gary & Reidel:- Only new things were-
CHUG-A-LUG - a drinking game like PASS-OUT (Sophisigames
Division of Createk.)
DO-DO-BLOCKS (P.B.S. Palo Alto Cal.) 5 dodecehedrons with
letters on the faces. Some have two letters. Throw
them & form words. (Rough idea.)
They no longer carry WATCH and CAMPAIGN. They are out
of business as far as they know.
Milton Bradley:- SWAHILI (Chubby Checkers supposed to have de-
veloped it and was demonstrating.)
[diagram of circle at center labeled "PIT" with concentric rings expanding out into four spokes (north, east, south, and west of center circles.]
2, 3, or 4 can play. (Seating doesn't
matter.) Each player takes 12
men of the same color and starts
them as shown. In turn players
sow their men from any ring
they wish. If last ends in an
occupied ring this ring is also
sowed, including the piece moved into
it. Etc. A player may choose to
stop moving even if the last piece
falls in an occupied ring.
In the continuous rings if a player
ends a sowing on a ring where one
or more of the opponents have single
men these are captured by the moving player.
Men can be sown in the pit only as the last piece. In
counting a move on the continuous rings, only the player's own
pcs. count. (Obviously).
(cont. on 2/21)
