SUNDAY 16 FEBRUARY
Quinquagesima 1969 47th day - 318 days to come
Spent the day writing the "Preface" for the book.
(cont. from 3/1) [3/4]
Sparks.
KINDERGARTEN GRADUATES - pre-school quiz game.
FOXES AND GEESE - the old hunt game.
SCHOOL DAYS - family quiz game.
Sheet filed in "1969 Ad Clips."
Offbeat. OH PEG IT. A sex oriented board game invented & produced
by two girls. (Filed in "Board Games Folder.")
In the same booth the was another game by: A to Z ideas, 369 Mathew St., Santa Clara, Cal. 95050
The game is called TRI-SCORE. It is played on a board as shown.
[diagram of 6 x 6 grid comprised of right angle triangles]
Each player (I think it is for 2) has 16 triangular
(size of smallest space) pieces, 4 numbered 1, 4 @ 2,
4 @ 3, and 4 @ 4. Players in turn place a triangle,
trying to form a scoring pattern which is one of
the following: [drawings of shapes: 4 triangles into a rectangle; 4 triangles into a right angle triangle; 4 triangles into a diamond] The score is the subject of
the 4 triangles in the shape.
If a placed triangle completes more than one scoring
shape, each one is scored. When placing a triangle
next to an opponent's it is permissable to place any number next to
a short side. A long side, however, must be the same number. Play
until all triangles are placed.
Wff 'n Proof. A delightful man told me about ROAD A BILITY even
tho I told him it was too juvenile for my purposes. He also told
the girl who handled the Wff'n Proof line that she should give me
a copy of TRI-NIM. It was up to Ruth Patmore who wasn't there.
Arranged to return tomorrow. Took a sheet on ROAD A BILITY (filed
in Ad Clips.)
To office for an hour. Ran repros of SPELLBINDER rules.
Stan Harris over in evening. Gave him my report on
DO-MI-NOS:- O.K. as a game but not as salable as INFINITY.
SKY-SPY:- probably O.K. for kids but the hunters can always
win and the spy player can't do much planning. We played a game
and it was easier than I thought for the hunters to win and
Stan, who played the spy, found it very dull. He left me another
game by the same gal to look at:- ROBBER ROULETTE. Nothing.
Phil Orbanes called while Stan was here. After speaking to him I had
him talk to Stan and they straightened things out between them.
I'm to cooperate with Stan till Phil finishes school when he will come
here to take over the game program.
Bob Engel didn't call as promised.
