Saturday 25 January 1969
Conversion of St. Paul 25th day - 340 days to come
Finished the rules for EXECUTIVE DECISION.
In evening Rcd. a letter from B. Shackman Co. They are sending me a
catalog, after seeing my letter.
Sent a letter to Haar Hoolim with what I wrote on him and also re-
turned a letter he once sent for me to look at.
Sent two FOCUS booklets to Lee Horn's secretary. Promised her one when
I taped the broadcast. And one for Lee.
Looking thru the 1968 game diary putting company names on index
cards. About 80.
Annette, Mike, Marcey, Bill, their daughter Jane, and her husband Jimmy. He
is a game lover. Showed him FOCUS. Beat him one game. Then played
another where we switched and I pulled off a victory.
Played 6-hand EXECUTIVE DECISION. Good. But the bidding slates
wore out. Worried about the problem. Found that the very first ones I
used were much better quality. Decided to use them even tho they were
a little small.
Jimmie is a great fan of RISK. He says there are new rules where
the Player's choose choose where they place their starting units, rather than
having them determined by cards.
Bryce Russel sent a thank you letter to BB, also enclosed an
article on problem solving from the April '63 Scientific American.
Fay Baker called in the evening. Says she is on to a new deal, some-
thing to do with using board games on closed circuit TV. Very hush-hush,
and can't tell me anything more now. Wanted to know where to look for
board games. Told her Brentano's was the best place to look for them.
Also wants me to think same more about making TREASURE HUNT more
interesting to the audience.
