WEDNESDAY 8 JANUARY 1969
8th day - 357 days to come
To 50th St. to 3M and Mutual Broadcasting. First talked to Lee Horn's
secretary who is a real game fan. Promised to send her a
copy of FOCUS. Taped a 20 minute interview for Mutual Broadcasting.
Unfortunately, there is no outlet in New York. I asked for
and he gave me a copy of the tape. It will be edited to 5 minutes and
Lee will get a copy to me.
Speaking to Lee and she suggested getting in more history, if possible
in future interviews. Sh said she told her superior in St. Paul
about my book. She told her that they would get the
information to me by the beginning of March. In the meantime
they don't want me to talk about the card game line.
When I suggested her visiting here she said she is busy
on many products. Basically she is a specialist on radio.
I'll send her a copy of the FOCUS booklet when I send one to
her secretary.
After I asked, she said that I could ask her for
copies of games whenever I wanted.
In the interview mentioned ACQUIRE, BAZAAR and
CASE OF THE ELUSIVE ASSASSIN, also some of the other 3M games.
Claude over for supper. Brought me a copy of A-H's STRATEGY FOOTBALL;
seems to have some material missing, but it is still playable I believe.
BB, Claude, and I played EXECUTIVE DECISION. Good.
Claude has an appointment Friday with the man from Oggi
(See 1/5). He is working on a puzzle based on the placing of
pieces on a board so that the same kind is not in any the same
line or column. That is why I got him the GNOSIS reproduction.
The Oggi man wants something to take the place of INSTANT INSANITY.
I suggested FITTING AND PROPER. Claude will see how it developes.
I said that he should have first crack at the opportunity and he
said that I had been generous with him in a similar circumstance.
I told him that FITTING AND PROPER was being considered at present.
Claude is thinking of suggesting ROBBIN' THE HOOD to Oggi;
but that shouldn't stop me from using it in the book.
