SUNDAY 8 DECEMBER 1968
Immaculate Conception
Second Sunday in Advent
343rd day - 23 days to come
Times had ad from Abercrombie & Fitch for RIDERS UP (Eddie Arcaro's).
-$17.95. (Filed in 1968 Ad Clips.)
Finished writing up OSMOSIS and then did all of PATTERNS including
a simple game. Saw that I will be running much too long if I
include all the card games I originally intended. Will go on to the
other chapters and then come back and use as many as I need of the
card games.
Claude called. He is feeling better. Has an idea for a stock market
game, tentatively called STOCK MANIPULATION. There is a track of
24 numbered spaces, from 1 to 24. There are 4 colored markers
corresponding tofour stocks. They are started as spaces 1 to 4.
There is a chart of the 24 possible combinations of the order
of the 4 markers (i.e, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th position) and for each
one there is a different selling price for each stock. Players in turn
throw 1 (or possibly 2) dice and move one of the markets, trying to move
the prices in the desired directions. Buying and selling has to be worked
out. When a marker goes all the way around the track it gats behind; the
number on the space determines the position.
I suggested having some positions in which the company goes bankrupt
particularly the speculative one(s).
The game is over, he said, when the bank is out of money. At this
time allstock is worthless. (Sounds like it might be pretty good.)
(cont. from 12/7) [12/7]
Annete Laurence called toask if I knew any ESP kind of game for her
daughter's party. Took out PSYCHIC AND OTHER ESP PARTY GAMES and read
her one game - FIND THE OBJECT.
