Presentation of B. V. Mary
326th day - 40 days to come
Didn't sleep very well, thinking of ideas for simplifying
EXECUTIVE DECISION! Called Bill Caruson and told him
of some of the ideas. He said that if I got it in by the
beginning of February, and they liked 'it it could be
in the test program for next fall.
He said he was sorry about not contacting me
when he didn't get into town in October (after saying in
a letter that he would be.)
I asked him about, FREE FOR ALL and he said he hadn't seen
I Iasked him whether he would like to see RED LETTER. He
said that FOIL, with some changes since I worked on it,
is being test marketed. If it works out they will decide
whether to keep two wond games, or to eliminate PHLOUNDER,
If it doesn't work out he'll contact me to send RED LETTER. (I
doubt if he'll remember.)
Before calling Bill I called Pressman Toy Co. at 1107 Broadway,
Spoke to secretary, Mr. Pressman not in but to call tomorrow
to see about setting up an appointment.
Called Felicia. Told her of my talk with Bill. Thru some
financial people she learned that a number of big companies
would like to take over S & R. They ave resisting. She
has an appointment with Bryce Russel, the executive V.P. of
AMT who is interested in games.
Later Felicia called me to tell of their meeting with
Bryce Russell, Alice also got in on the conversation. They
think he is very hep. He was a line of games which will
be coming out in a few months. He is interested in expanding.
Likes brain games like WFF'N' PROOF and TUF but doesn't think
they did a good job.
He liked Connor Barrett's games TOTTER and PITFALL and
had them sent to him.
He also looked at : -
MATCHED SET : - Didn't care for it.
FLINGERS :- Didn't care for it.
FACTOR : - 3M didn't send back the rules. Russell pretty
much figured it out and then spoke to Jake on the phone.
Thinks it is too much like other number games, (Alice
would like me to get a repro of the rules.)
Go SEE : - Might be interested if he goes in for party games.
He had heard of me (from Martin Gardner I determined,
See 4/25 & 4/27) and wants to meet me. Early in December
we will get together at Jake's since he wants Jake to do
some work for him, Decided, to definitely show him
FITTING & PROPER and think about what others.
Told them that Jerry had mentioned Pressman as wanting
games. They said that Lynn Pressman had a rough reputatation.
