WEDNESDAY 20 NOVEMBER 1968
325th day - 41 days to come
Alice called. They are going to clean up their shelves Friday and want to know
if I want some of the games they would throw out, I said I'd like
to look thru the stuff, they will contact me Friday.
Alice said two games came from 3M. They haven't opened them yet.
Told her I'd try to rewrite WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? over the
weekend and bring it and FITTING AND PROPER to her next weekend.
Looking thru most of the 2nd hand book stores, Found 3 copies of
Benham's PLAYING CARDS, 2 for $5 and then one for $3.50 which
I bought for Lech. Bought a Jiffy Bag for it. Will hold it until I hear
that he received the others I sent. Also bought the paperback of
ABBOTT'S NEW CARD GAMES
Called Jerry D'Arcey in California, Jerry told me the following : -
JIG SEE- Rejected by 3M.
CHOICE Avalon-Hill bought the copies he still had around
HANG UP- Rejected by Parker - Being considered by Lakeside.
CROSSUP POKER - Formerly called SCORE (see 8/6). Rcd some
money
from M, B, although it will come out in about 6 months.
CODE - Rejected by Parker & M, B, Now with S&R. for consideration.
BLUF - Sent back by E.S.R. It is now with Saalfield for consideration.
PROGRAM-IT - Sent back by E.S.R. Being considered by 3M.
(He got $ 250 from E.S.R.)
URANIUM - Being considered by Parker.
COUP D'ETAT - His 3rd quarter royalty was around $1000.
PLOY - Frank's game was rejected by Createk. It is still
being considered by Pressman. 3M'asked to look at it again
but then made no commitment.
REGATTA • Frank's 3rd quarter royalty was about $1000.
CHICKEN OR EGGHEAD :- Haus 3rd quarter royalty was also around $1000.
I told him about rejection by Parker and also about
THESE UNITED STATES and EXECUTIVE DECISION. (see below).
Told him my royalty on ACQUIRE & BAZAAR.
Asked him about Create and said he said he was going
to see them next week. Told me to send ANOTHER to him and
he'd show it, without charge, I said he should have an
agent's fee. He said no. We'll argue later. (Later BB
packed it and will take it to post office tomorrow.)
Asked him about Pressman and he said he had spoken to
Mr. Pressman who was very nice. Asked him if he'd mind
if I went there and he said I surely should.
Letter from Bill Caruson. They are returning EXECUTIVE DECISION
Just too exhausting. I should call him collect if I want
to talk to him about it, there was another letter addressed
to me from him but the inside was to someone else.
I'll call and tell him about that, and also talk about simplifying
the game. Also tell him about RED LETTER.
Thought of an idea for a card GAME. The kings are removed
(cont. on 11/9)
