WEDNESDAY 13 NOVEMBER
1968 318th day - 48 days to come
Rcd. a card from Rizzoli bookstore saying that they had rcd.
a copy of PICCOLA ENCICLOPEDIA DEI GIUOCHI E PASSATEMPI
for $3.50. Called to see how late they were open. Till 12.
Rcd. a letter from Createk (because of my original mail order
of SEDUCTION) advertising this and their other games.
Nothing news.
Stan Harris, Jim Dunnigan, Phil Orbanes, and Chris Wagner
here for supper.
Discussed the game production for Renwal in general but
didn't go into specifics. I will get $10 an hour for
evaluating games and they will send me the one's
listed later for my comment. Jim said I should
charge for tonight and I said no. They were impressed
with my knowledge of games.
Just before they left showed them FITTING & PROPER
also ANOTHER. Stan, as a plastics engineer, was parti-
cularly impressed with the former.
Games that they will be sending me:-
CHAIN REACTION (Phil's) Saw it and it looks interesting. I'll have to change the name of my game on the idea by Haar Hoolim.
CHALLENGE (Phil's) A card game, using dice also. Saw a little of this.
RENDEZVOUS (Phil's) Just saw the board.
THE MONEY GAME (Phil's) Didn't see. Phil was interested in the book I have of the same name.
STOCK MARKET (Jim's) Didn't see. WALL STREET.
RED BARON (Jim's) Didn't see.
They are now working on the following and I will
be getting them later.
CONFRONTATION (Phil's) A version [crossed out] based on world wide diplomacy rather than war per se.
CARTEL (Phil's)
GOVERNMENT (Jim's)
Phil went thru the Reader's Guide to Periodic Literature
and the Economic Guide to Periodic Literature from 1960
(I believe) to the present. He will send me copies of
the following that I don't have:-
"Marketing Survey" (?)
"Making Money with Games" (Science Digest, Feb. 1967)
"Pass Go and Retire" (Holiday - probably)
"Parker Brothers" (Business Week)
"Making a Market out of a Myth" (Printer's Ink) About Ideal.
Jim brought me the following:-
Volume II, no. 4 of STRATEGY & TACTICS (which is as far
as they've gone till now.
Two marketing surveys - one by himself and one by A.H.
(cont. on 11/10)
