                                                WEDNESDAY 16 OCTOBER 1968
U. S. Mint Established 1786
290th day - 76 days to come
In Northampton, Mass. tooked at the Smith College library,
Saw the following book which has a good collection, among
other things, of card games, particularity gambling.
PICCOLA ENCICLOPEDIA DI GIVOCHÉ PASSATEMPI PER
GIOVANI ED ADULTI per by J, Gelli. (Milana, Ulrico Hoepli, 1929)
Call mo, 290-6282)
The following two were not in their proper position,
NEW MATHEMATICAL PASTIMES by P. A. Macmahon

Games - Uncatalogued material (Scott Gym) (call No 796 P191)
At Johnson's in Springfield bought : -
AT EASE by Jules Leopold (© 1443 , McGraw-Hill)
THE KUSHNER SYSTEM by Jack Kushner
also an extra copy (for 154) of FUN WITH GAMES OF RUMMY.
Clande bought me a CHESS THE STORY OF CHESS PIECES FROM
ANTIQUITY TO MODERN TIMES: We both felt that, tho it doesn't
have any new game material, it might be impressive for
impressing possible spousers of my research. ([crossed out] Pages
23 to 26 of the descriptive material are missing, but do not
appear to be torn out.) '[Filed and placed on shelf ]
Looked at HEXES (Spear) but thought I had seen it so
didn't buy it. (checked at home but didn't have any info
on it.) [But see 10/30/64]
At home found the following in a the mail : -
October PLAYTHINGS.
Letter from Audrey Pierce asking if 11 A.M. on Oct, 24 would
be o.k. for an interview by a newspaper syndicate.
Letter from KMS saying that all their games would be handled
by Funtastic and that the latter would be contacting
soon. (Looked more like a letter they would send to
a a past buyer.)
Letter from John Geiger. He is going to put out METROPLAN
on his own and would like to talk to me further. He'll
call to set up a date.
Claude borrowed the sheets with patent into I got
from Alice, the one which mentioned CAMPAIGN
At Johnson's took a M, B, catalog, (Filed in 1968 Ad Clips)
