Called Nick Politis. He will send ACQUIRE, BAZAAR, and
MR. PRESIDENT to Lech Pijanowski in my name.
Nick is leaving 3M to become Editor-in-Chief of
"Office Design" Magazine. His job will be taken over by
a girl, Lee Horn.
An editor is interested in games, but probably from the
business end. He may contact me.
Nick will check on the game column that Popular Mech-
anics may be interested in.
Saw Wald & Arthur at Cerima. They showed ALCHEMY to
the editor @ Stein & Day they had seen before. He
likes it and now wants to show the manuscript to Mr. Stein.
He suggested their getting a letter from Bob Abbott since
his book is making money for Mr. Stein. I gave them Bob's
number and he came over (lives a block or so away). Bob
will talk to Stein for them.
Bob got $350 from the paper back sale to Funk &
Wagnell which almost made up his $1500 advance. The
paper back is out but Bob thinks it looks very drab.
He received $70 for 1967 royalties on WHAT'S THAT ON MY HEAD?.
He is still not interested, understandably, in going back
to games.
Asked Arthur about MARRY. The winner is the one
who is the first to have only one pile remaining. (See 7/19).
Thus when a player lands on top of another player's card he
helps that player and should only do it for important pos-
itional reasons.
