TUESDAY 11 JUNE 1968
St. Barnabas
Kemehameha Day (Hawaii)
163rd day - 203 days to come
Thinking of further ideas for FITTING & PROPER to make it
more challenging.
Called Arthur. Oswald Jacoby didn't care for his book
on the HIGH DECK, so the publisher returned it. Arthur
showed it to Herb Ahrend, who had advertised in the
Village Voice. Nothing came of it. (For Herb Ahrend see
9/27 & 10/3 - 66.)
Rcd. an ad from an outfit called "Entelek" for various courses
in management techniques. Also the games TRANSACTION and
HIGH BID LOW BIDDER (Filed in 1968 Ad Clips).
Wrote a post card to Jerry D'Arcey telling him what Ed Cole told
me yesterday.
Further thoughts on FITTING & PROPER. Half Have four different sets
of pieces with different arrangements of the holes. Have it
arranged so that only two colors go on any one board but players
have to decide which two colors. Also there are two sets of
the 7 sizes in each color so that there is choice within the
color also. (This would probably be too difficult, tho I didn't
try it.)
Another idea (also not tried) is to have the four boards with
the same layout and to have them cut up in four different ways
to get different hole setups on the pieces.
Another idea is to use 12 pieces of 3 x 2 with different arrangements
for each.
