Ascension Day 1968 144th day - 222 days to come
Called Barney Rich, as he had requested. Didn't have anything par-
ticular to tell me. An outfit called "Science Games Research"
[crossed out] (or something like that) had his DOZEN DIAMONDS for
almost a year before finally rejecting them. This outfit is
a subsiduary of IBM and they are behind the WFF 'N' PROOF
line - he says. He also hears that the line is not doing as
well as they claim.
He saw someone from an outfit that puts out BEHIND THE 8 BALL
which is a novelty rather than a game - a many-sided figure.
They have a cheap way of manufacturing many-sided figure
and might be interested in DOZEN DIAMONDS.
Claude called. There was an ad in the Saturday Review of Literature
of April 20th for someone who wanted a set of Parker's
game of EL DORADO. I have all the info on it - but not the
game. Claude thought that I might be interested in calling
[phone number].
I told Claude that 3M is eager for Educational games and
somewhat less so for card game. He doesn't know if he can find
the energy to put any more work on games now.

get 2, and with 2 players each get 3 sets. Players in turn
play a pc. on a matching space. When all the pcs. are down
each player scores for each of his pcs. on top (the point value)
and the value of all the pcs. it covers. (The rules are not
clear and it give you a headache to play.)
Will returned DONDE ESTÁ and HALF AND HALF to Alice. They are
still considering CLIFFHANGER RACE, Alice's game.
Bill Dodge is going to manufacture a game called BAR-CHEEZY.
He calls it a more interesting version of PASS-OUT. The girls
will help him market it.
Bill Dodge's contract with Lowe called for 5% for 50,000 copies
and 2 1/2% thereafter. It sold more than 50,000 in 1967 and they
payed for all at 2 1/2%. Bill is sueing.
Felicia wants to show SHOW BUSINESS to Lowe but Alice doesn't want
to show anything so unoriginal.
Alice picked up the rules for THE VERBAL GAME and HAAR HOOLIM PERCEPTION
GAMES at the show. I borrowed them to reproduce.
Alice had an ad sheet for a game called MEM which I missed.
Looks interesting. Felicia gave me her catalog for the
show since Alice had one. I may go back.
Felicia says that DUTCH BLITZ is doing well at the stores.
Took the May Toys and Novelties. It had a game AVANTE which
is played on a Checker Board and uses checker moves to capture
card symbols and make up GIN RUMMY hands.
