Tuesday 7 May 1968
128th day - 238 days to come
Made several reproductions of the book outline at work.
Called Arthur. He had shown his book on the HIGH DECK to Stein
& Day some time ago and they weren't interested since Bob's
book was doing poorly. Arthur thought, however, that with the
paperback version of Bob's book coming out they might be in-
terested now. They were. They liked everything about the
HIGH DECK book except the editor thought the games were dull.
He would like one "Blockbuster." I told Arthur to come up with
a fast-moving simple game but he said he wasn't interested,
at least for the present.
He and Wald have come up with an improvement on
AFRICAN CHESS (formerly GHANA). As many single pieces of a
player's color that are adjacent to a space can be moved
into that space at one move, as the player wishes. This speeds
up the game.
Spoke to Claude. Nothing particularly about games.
The 1st quarter royalty check for THE CASE OF THE ELUSIVE
ASSASSIN came - $10.77.
(cont. from 5/6) [5/24]
pcs. as he wishes. this is set on a rotating plat-
form. Other players try to set up the same patterns
in a limited number of rotations. Don't know the de-
tails of scoring.
