Monday 8 April 1968
Monday in Holy Week 99th day - 267 days to come
Met Mike Abrams at 11:30, till 1. For the next 6 months he
will be working in Philadelphia on computer applications
for teaching, including simulation games.
His address will be:-
4819 Beaumont Ave.
Phila., Pa. 19143
He may still be able to send me a copy of the rules
for CRISIS to look at. His professor was not angry
at the other set being lost.
He is thinking of adding play in SUCCESSION with
numbering systems other than the binary. I suggested
that if he thinks it would improve the game he should
contact Alice about it.
He met Robert Allen at Nova H.S. Allen told him about a
game of his, EUROCARD which is nothing more than a
series of Flash Cards on European countries and yet is
selling well.
Thinking of ideas for making FAIR TRADE into a 3-hand game.
1) Use a 27 card deck, the 2 thru 10 of 3 suits. Sets would
be 9 cards and all of them would be necessary to win.
2) Use the 48 card deck and deal, say, 10 to each and the
remainder in a dummy which is face up as in OPEN BRIDGE. After
a round of selling from the hand there is a round in
which each player cho in turn chooses all the cards of
one group which are at the top of the columns in the dummy.
10 of a set are required to win.
3) All the cards are face up in a dummy and are auctioned
off in turn by the choice of each player. (Who gets the money?)
(Don't think that any of these are too good and don't intend to
pursue it further.)
Wrote Jerry an airmail post card about Mental B
MENTAL BLOCKS.
